No. dmg2DIR don't requires wget.
dmg2IMG uses wget.

Sorry to answer now. There is a problem with unprintable characters in Sublime Text. Tested with version 3.0.1, it seems to work property.
I can see there is an other problem when writing file "/tmp/dmg2dir/Sublime Text 2.0.2.img". You can try to use option "-t" to specify an alternative temporary directory.
