I suggest to change Icon=/usr/share/pixmaps/discord.png into Icon=discord. This allow icon theming and automatically use /usr/share/pixmaps/discord.png if theme isn't present discord icon.

Seems to me that the dependency libxtst is missing. At least it is required by the binary:

readelf -d /opt/discord/Discord

0x0000000000000001 (NEEDED) Shared library: []

Same goes for discord-canary

Discord uses xdg-open to do auto-login when it's first run. Recommend adding xdg-utils to the list of optional deps

@multichaos The keys are mentioned in the pkg build of Libc++. Libx++ is just a dependency of Discord. So it has no reason to be in this pkgbuild at all.

And adding keys, is not a function that should ever be in a pkgbuild. Because it's a sign of trust, so YOU have to decide if you trust the key or not. Not an automatic installer.

So, brand new to arch linux(manjaro) but I have been a user of ubuntu for a couple years. Is it possible to put the import key into the PKGBUILD file. Hopefully i'm understanding how PKGBUILD works...

It's probably worth commenting here for future searchers that you'll need to import the PGP key of Tom Stellard, a developer on LLVM, in order to install libc++ and dependencies.

Here's how I updated it and got it working:

  1. $ yaourt -S discord //Don't edit anything, just install/upgrade it. Alternatively you can use makepkg to install if you don't have/want yaourt.

  2. $ discord //This removes the leftover info from 0.3

  3. $ cd /opt/discord/

  4. $ ./

And you're done. Launch it as normal.

Update is pretty straightforward, this was enough for me:

diff --git a/PKGBUILD b/PKGBUILD

As previously said, the icon path in the desktop file should be relative.

Looks like it should have an optdep on wget for uploading crashdumps
