Added this quirk to the package: https://pastebin.com/ir8BZj6U

Note: The zip is named DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.0b10_Linux.zip

The installer is named DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.1b10_Linux.run

But the actual version of it is 17.1b21. Kill me...

~/.cache/yay/davinci-resolve-studio-beta/PKGBUILD: line 121: ./DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.0b10_Linux.run: No such file or directory

The .run is in the zip and I extracted it and it can run. I also deleted the folder and allowed it to redownload from scratch. Same error.

I found the problem. The zip file has DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.1b10_Linux.run

The PKGBUILD uses 17.0b10 so zip file is 17.1b10. 17.0 vs 17.1

It appears although the zip file is named 17.0 the .run file inside the zip file is named 17.1

It looks like the latest revision is broken:

To make the "Speed editor" work in DR17studio, it seems to be necessary with a few more udev-rules. I copied the following into /usr/lib/udev/rules.d/ and then my "Speed editor" started to work:

99-BlackmagicDevices.rules

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1edb", MODE="0666"

99-ResolveKeyboardHID.rules

SUBSYSTEMS=="usb", ENV{.LOCAL_ifNum}="$attr{bInterfaceNumber}"

# Editor Keyboard
SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", KERNEL=="hidraw*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1edb", ATTRS{idProduct}=="da0b", ENV{.LOCAL_ifNum}=="04", MODE="0666"

# Speed Editor Keyboard
SUBSYSTEM=="hidraw", KERNEL=="hidraw*", ATTRS{idVendor}=="1edb", ATTRS{idProduct}=="da0e", ENV{.LOCAL_ifNum}=="02", MODE="0666"

After reboot, my "Speed editor" started to work. The idea was found in: makeresolvedeb_1.4.4_multi.sh wich is the debian helper to repack DR install file to a .deb install.

I leave it to the experts to decide the correct way of doing this in PKGBUILD.

I am still receiving the errors I mentioned on 2020-12-21, even though it installs. is this a mis-configuration of my system?

here is what I am getting when using yay. I was able to install it a few days ago, just can't update it.

@linearviewpoint what do you mean by "DaVinci Resolve 17 starts and runs fine"? Did you succeed adding media to the bin and timeline and playing back? May I ask what GPU do you use? Thx

However, the good news is that DaVinci Resolve 17 starts and runs fine, even if it doesn't appear in my app launcher/start menu. :)

It looks like the new DaVinci Resolve 17 doesn't use the old bsdtar-compatible self extracting archive any more, and now use a binary that stores its archive as a squashfs. To extract the archive:

$ dd if=DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.0b1_Linux.run bs=4096 skip=190880 iflag=skip_bytes of=resolve.squashfs && unsquashfs resolve.squashfs

To find the offset of the archive:

$ binwalk DaVinci_Resolve_Studio_17.0b1_Linux.run
