I can confirm that if use pullrequest https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/pull/851 , pidgin trayicon is fixed
but sometimes i have the gray borders (6px) in right and bottom. Than to fix this i set (line 60):
icon.set_size(width-6, height-6);

Maybe this will help someone

pullrequest https://github.com/linuxmint/Cinnamon/pull/851 nearly fix pidgin issue, but the problem remains partially. Now it often happens that the bottom is a gray rectangle icon, as shown on the screenshot. It so happens that the icon moves up (not in the middle).

The session files are not needed anymore :)

chenxiaolong commented on 2012-06-12 19:41

@Ner0: Thanks! I've integrated the new patch. For Cinnamon 2D, I've also created session files and a gnome-session session file.

Apparently there's now Cinnamon 2D. Maybe you should create session files.
