I did run it with the --replace option, actually. I tried cinnamon under Mint 12 and it works even from within gnome-shell. Thanks a lot for your work anyway!

I've added a gnome-session file and xsession file to the package, so that it can be launched from GDM/KDM/LightDM/etc.

@remstereo, ElVirolo: How are you running Cinnamon? It is a window manager, so it must be run with "--replace".

Also, I'm not sure you can run Cinnamon from a Gnome(-fallback,-shell) Session. In Gnome, the window manager is launched by gnome-session and if the window manager stops running, gnome-session will try to restart it. Maybe that's why it's crashing...

Ok so now it does start but then gnome-shell crashes immediately and gdm appears.

@xxTTxx: You're right, I've added it to the PKGBUILD.

Also, for anyone wanting to test Cinnamon from an XFCE session, kill the 'xfwm4' process first! After running 'cinnamon --replace' and 'xfwm4 --replace' again, xfwm4 will fail to manage the windows and cause all the application processes to be 'defunct.'

@remstereo: I just uploaded a new PKGBUILD 2 minutes before you posted :) Try installing it again. It should work now.
