@maximbaz Can you bundle ffmpeg and libvpx and see if the problem persists or not?

chromium-vaapi 73.0.3683.75-2 is still unable to play vp9 videos :( https://fars.ee/s5Ua.png intel hd 620

Oh I'm well aware :( It's compiling now, I'll push once it succeeds.

@maximbaz the patch for [extra] chromium got removed (commit), we need this again.

UPDATE: the patch has been integrated to extra/chromium!! Please install it and test! For feedback and questions, please don't write comments, but go to our new forum thread instead: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1830639

IMPORTANT: VA-API patch has been integrated into extra/chromium! We will remove this package at some point, and we will lose the comments section, so we need a new place to continue the discussions.

I created a new thread on BBS, please let's move all discussions there already now!

Foreigncon: since webrtc patch comes from extra/chromium, I chatted with foutrelis who maintains it, the current patch is actually based on it already, but only the relevant bits were taken.

xuanruiqi: I use whatever GPU is integrated into Intel Core i7-7820HQ.

Foreigncon: yeah I've tried --disable-gpu-driver-workarounds, doesn't help :( And GPU acceleration definitely kicks in, because when I disable acceleration via chrome://flags, I get no lags on 4k video, but my laptop begins to sound like an airplane. And it's not like a lag, but more like "missing frames" I'd say, for example sound cuts for a moment every now and then... By the way, thanks for the ping about webrtc patch, I'll look into it.

@maximbaz Have you tried it using --disable-gpu-driver-workarounds flag on a clean profile?

BTW chromium-vaapi's webrtc missing header patch is wrong. Please use this

@maximbaz: hm, what GPU do you have? I have a GeForce and use the NVIDIA drivers, so no native VA-API support.
