chromium-vaapi is currently having problems with intel. You can follow developments here. For now, I have rolled back to the previous version, I suggest you do the same, until this issue is resolved.

Please add this gpg key to install this package

gpg --recv-keys EB4F9E5A60D32232BB52150C12C87A28FEAC6B20

You can also add keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve to your ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf file.

If you have problems connecting to a Chromecast, just enable the following flag:

and restart Chromium.

Thanks to maximbaz for providing pre-compiled binaries, and thanks to niklaszantner for the tip about Chromecast.

@wooque Please unflag the package, maximbaz hasn't released 76.0.3809.132 yet.

It's getting worse on my system too. Now I can't watch 1080p@60 videos without freezes even with hardware acceleration enabled. I think it's a bug in chromium webengine system. Maybe I could resolve this issue downgrading to a previous version, but this is getting ridiculous, I prefer to watch YouTube and Twitch through mpv using youtube-dl.

Anyway, thanks to maximbaz for his great work. It's not his fault if Google and Mozilla don't give a **** to Linux users.

For over a month this application completely freezes my PC so bad that the only way for me to get out of it is to restart my PC. I have been having to use Falkon browser in KDE just so that I still have a browser. I am a chromium/chrome user for life but this is gettting seriously a little messed up. Can someone tell me what is going on please and if there is even a plan to fix it becase it has been a long time. I have stable Arch with intel graphics 620. Would it help me to use a different driver or someting? I have intel graphics 620 with intel media driver and HW accel setup properly.

Anyone get successful 1080p@30 youtube with a intel atom z8350. It shows it's using the MojoVideoDecoder (h264) but i get a ton of these in the log, and lots of pauses/loading every couple seconds.

Chrome on windows has no issues playing it back. Kodi on arch also has no issues. Any ideas?

The latest version chromium-vaapi-bin 76.0.3809.87-1, does not have available "Hardware-accelerated video decode" option but I think it's enabled. chrome://flags/ -> Hardware-accelerated video decode Not available on your platform. x86_64 Linux 5.2.6-arch1-1-ARCH

Until kureta updates this pkgbuild, you can change the pkgver to 76.0.3809.87 and the sha256sum to fefe7bfb06b4ef4f0225fd850eb34e2e707b79f988e50bc70daf84d5ef5e2297 to get the latest version from maximbaz. I've tested on intel (sandybridge mobile) and acceleration works.
