chromium-vaapi is currently having problems with intel. You can follow developments here. For now, I have rolled back to the previous version, I suggest you do the same, until this issue is resolved.

Please add this gpg key to install this package

gpg --recv-keys EB4F9E5A60D32232BB52150C12C87A28FEAC6B20

You can also add keyserver-options auto-key-retrieve to your ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf file.

If you have problems connecting to a Chromecast, just enable the following flag:

chrome://flags/#load-media-router-component-extension

and restart Chromium.

Thanks to maximbaz for providing pre-compiled binaries, and thanks to niklaszantner for the tip about Chromecast.

This doesn't work for me using Intel driver under Wayland.

I'm getting the following error currently:

LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=i965 chromium

libva error: /usr/lib/dri/i965_drv_video.so init failed

I have the intel-media-driver with chromium-vaapi-bin and huc and guc loaded for Intel HD 620 and everything works but the Vp9 with mojo decoder. It will not play any videos in this format. I have the iHD variable set and the vainfo info is:

[josh@archkde ~]$ vainfo vainfo: VA-API version: 1.4 (libva 2.4.1) vainfo: Driver version: Intel iHD driver - 1.0.0

works for me @madscience, for example I see dark background on chrome://extensions page

madscience commented on 2019-04-27 18:14

for some reason, --force-dark-mode still works on 74.0.3729.108, but --enable-features=WebUIDarkMode no longer works.

@Tech0308

You probably have this error if you are behind Arch stable (e.g. if you're using Manjaro). The solutions are:

  1. Downgrade to the previous release of this package that worked
  2. Use chromium-vaapi which compiles locally on your system (you'll have to be patient as it takes a long time)
  3. Download updated dependencies from Arch stable. In this case, you have to update the package glibc (and possibly others like lib32-glibc) to 2.29 from Arch stable directly.

Full disclosure, I've done #1 for previous releases, and I don't have the patience for #2. I did #3 this time.

New error: /usr/lib/chromium/chromium: /usr/lib/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.29' not found (required by /usr/lib/chromium/chromium) Any fixes known?

@digitalone I'll add it with the next release. I want to keep our version and build numbers in sync with maximbaz's source repository.

Can you add chromium-widevine to optional dependencies? Thanks.

Tech0308 commented on 2019-04-13 21:23

Fixed it by downloading the icu-64.1-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz from the AUR and copying the /usr/lib inside the package into the same place in the system
