Hi, thanks for maintaining. Is there any way the sandbox warning could be removed by default? I have to edit manually every time to remove it. Thanks for your consideration.

This package is set to conflict with itself and cannot be installed using pacaur:

% pacaur -S brave-dev-bin
:: Package brave-dev-bin not found in repositories, trying AUR...
:: resolving dependencies...
:: unresolvable package conflicts detected
:: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies: brave-dev-bin)

gconf is an obsolete configuration database system. Brave does not have this dependency.

One can install bave-bin and brave-dev-bin at the same time by just removing line 47 ln -s /usr/lib/PepperFlash "$pkgdir/usr/lib/pepperflashplugin-nonfree and removing brave-bin from conflicts

You should use explicitly #!/usr/bin/env bash instead of #!/usr/bin/env sh

For those like me who don't want to enable namespaces and are trying to get rid of the "--no-sandbox" notification... In, change this line:

exec "/usr/lib/brave-dev-bin/brave" "$BRAVE_FLAGS" "$FLAG" -- "$@"

exec "/usr/lib/brave-dev-bin/brave" "$BRAVE_FLAGS" "$FLAG" "--disable-infobars" -- "$@"

Please note that this will disable ANY infobars. Also, don't forget to change the sha512sum in PKGBUILD after doing this.

(The third sha512sum should be changed to: b7421036628e171d06f0ae4a97ac9fc4dae8c091bf3f537e4cbdb5d1da20feddda8d2790610aa0d29ce92a2b7116f0ab6e9e39fc1b40f7153c7e6ba8c1c42773)

Not a perfect solution but it works.

fyi 0.61.4 (current dev version at 2019-01-31) still has issue where text does not show up in shield UI due to missing resources folder in produced zip: Otherwise, the build works fine

Sleipnir commented on 2019-01-22 13:00

The Brave devs have removed the 0.60.15 release and created a 0.60.16 release. Until the maintainer of this package is able to fix this you can work around it by editing the PKGBUILD file at install and changing pkgver=0.60.15 to pkgver=0.60.16

Then you need to update the sha512sum by downloading the latest getting 0.60.16 version and using whatever your favourite hashing tool is to get the 512 hash. Replace just the first hash for the release and boom - it'll install.
