Can you perhaps add pulseaudio on the optional dependencies? blockify works without it.

python2-configparser seems to be a dependency that should be added.

It would be great if you added a .desktop file into /usr/share/applications for blockify-ui

not working for me
ads in spotify are not muted

ryuzy commented on 2015-10-18 09:24

seems fair

serialoverflow commented on 2015-10-17 20:14

@ryuzy: That's probably best. This version of blockify is meant to be used with the current stable version of Spotify. Right now, spotify-beta is obsolete but if there is going to be another beta phase i might create a blockify-beta package to match. Until then, if someone really needs to use spotify-beta with this package, they'll probably be okay with changing 1 line in the PKGBUILD.

ryuzy commented on 2015-10-17 15:44

If you add spotify as dependency you exclude the use of spotify-beta

serialoverflow commented on 2015-10-16 17:55

@pancakes: Done.
@FadeMind: Can you give more information about the necessary entries? I've tried the hosts file way in the past but I had both false positives and ads slipping through. It also requires root and is static so i'm not sure i'd say it's always better than a 3rd party app but it's definitely a great light-weight alternative.

FadeMind commented on 2015-10-16 16:59

Better way for block ads in spotify is using custom hosts file.

Could we have spotify as a dependency? (or at the least as an optional dependency?) It makes managing the relationships/orphan status easier.
