thanks for the update but sadly, there are still some unresolved deps:

@dflt:
Thanks for the heads up. The dependencies are actually pretty much the same. The issue you describe is due to me trying PyPI and virtualenv. Neither of them really work because they cannot satisfy all dependencies so I have dropped those configurations and released a new version 3.6.2 (with some other minor fixes).
Feel free to try again.

blockify works but blockify-ui gives error:

$ blockify-ui

File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 2940, in _initialize_master_working_set
working_set = WorkingSet._build_master()
File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 635, in _build_master
ws.require(__requires__)
File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 943, in require
needed = self.resolve(parse_requirements(requirements))
File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/pkg_resources/__init__.py", line 829, in resolve
raise DistributionNotFound(req, requirers)
pkg_resources.DistributionNotFound: The 'blockify==3.6.1' distribution was not found and is required by the application

maybe because of different deps this package should be split in two? cli and gui? :)

Please add python-docopt to needed dependencies:

ImportError: Please install docopt to use the DBus CLI.
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/sbin/blockify", line 9, in <module>
load_entry_point('blockify==3.6.1', 'console_scripts', 'blockify')()
File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/blockify/cli.py", line 595, in main
cli = initialize()
File "/usr/lib/python3.5/site-packages/blockify/cli.py", line 582, in initialize
args = util.docopt(doc, version="blockify {}".format(util.VERSION))
AttributeError: module 'blockify.util' has no attribute 'docopt'

oxyz: if muting does not work, please report it at https://github.com/mikar/blockify

serialoverflow commented on 2016-04-19 14:59

Can you try clearing your build cache? Blockify 3.6.1 does no longer require 'dbus-python' in setup.py, see https://github.com/mikar/blockify/blob/v3.6.1/setup.py so this error should not be happening anymore.

I also get: The 'dbus-python' distribution was not found and is required by blockify

when running blockify, and the program exits
