Birdie does build without Granite. There was just a bad commit in the git repo that broke the build, it's fixed now.

Oks. In my case, I use XFCE, but without granite birdie didn't launched

AnEuzvil - If you could open a bug at https://github.com/birdieapp/birdie/issues/new it would help to keep track of the current issues with the app.

logos - granite has been optional for a few months now and is only recommended for elementary OS users, as it provides better integration with the elementary desktop.

which window manager/compositor do you use? it's working fine here with xfwm4.

Thanks @vasconunes, for reporting. So I ditched the maintenance of this package. I see no need to continue
