The upstream repository is now deprecated and the author is restructuring things.

Yeah, the upstream maintainer merged a bunch of PRs that have broken some things (while adding a few new features). There are issues & PRs already created for some things I've come across, including your build error:


These issues also have some ideas for workarounds you may want to test.

The author doesn't seem to be super active (and doesn't seem to be actually testing the stuff they merge either...), but hopefully those fixes will be merged soon.
