@ccorail: great! nice catch.. please add a reference to the meson issue here:

ccorail commented on 2017-10-17 08:28

@gauteh ok, I found the problem, it's in line 938 in /usr/lib/python3.6/site-packages/mesonbuild/compilers/ :
if line == '#include "..." search starts here:':

My locale is not in english, so the output of gcc is translated to french.
I'll fill a bug to meson but in the meantime, adding LC_ALL="C" at the begining of the "meson build" line in the astroid PKGBUILD would fix the problem.

@gauteh yes building with scons does work (after converting to astroid scons script to python3 with 2to3), I'll submit a complete bug report later.

@ccorail: you can submit a bug report at, does `scons` work if you run it directly from the git repo? Need full build logs in the bug report.

@gauteh tanks for your answer, yes my system is up-to-date and I start from clean directory (I tried both with the pkgbuild and directly from astroid git).

@ccorail: Is boost and meson up-to-date? Also if you have any build-cache left over from previous builds it may help to clear it.

ccorail commented on 2017-10-16 20:10

Dependency Boost (thread, filesystem, log_setup, log, date_time, system) found: NO
Meson encountered an error in file, line 23, column 0:
Dependency "boost" not found

I have both boost and boost-libs installed. I'm not familiar with meson, I do not know where to look...

@lucc you need to rebuild webkitgtk, or fetch a pre-built binary from here: See this issue:

Well you might be right. Anyway, it needs a rebuild.
